The kids handed out hand made thank you cards to our honored guests, and Mr. Chris Dunlop cut the ribbon declaring the WOLF open for learning!! Working in the WOLF
All of our beds are planted and we have really been working in the WOLF this week!!
4th grade, with the help of Mr. Tommy Turner, planted lots of yummy veggies in their bed!
Kindergarten and First Grade spent some time in the WOLF making observations and learning about types of soil.
I took advantage of a quiet moment after school to take some pictures of the completed project. I am humbled by all of the hard work went into the WOLF and amazed at how beautifully it turned out!! We are so proud of our new facility!!

Going Green!!
During the past few weeks, things have really started to green up in the W.O.L.F.!
Boy Scout Troop 1492, led by Curly Top Welch and Mrs. Crain, planted our Native Texas Butterfly Garden. They put in a variety of plants that will attract local butterflies and other helpful critters to the W.O.L.F.
The 3rd Grade filled their bed with several varieties of peppers and tomatoes that they grew from seeds in their classrooms. They also planted garlic and squash. They have spent the last week or two learning about irrigation, weathering and erosion, and soil while watering their bed; and learning about common garden pests and how to control them.
While the students and teachers are thoroughly enjoying their time in the newly finished W.O.L.F., the Maintenance Department are working on refinishing some reclaimed timbers for seating in the outdoor classroom. We hope to have them installed by the beginning of next week.
HEY YOU...
Are you looking for a way to get involved in the great things that are happening in the W.O.L.F.?? We are looking for volunteers to help with maintaining the gardens during the summer break. If you are interested, please contact Kristi Williams at kristi.williams@wylieisd.net . We could really use your help!
Thanks!!
